Natural Park Los Mallos de Riglos
The climbing mecca
In the North of Aragon, in the middle of the Kingdom of the Mallos, full of scenic landscapes and amazing locations, Concilio is the closest village to the breath-taking Mallos de Riglos and Aguero. Both wonders of nature are a five minute drive from the hotel.
Concilio is also the closest place to Murillo de Gallego and Ayerbe.
Great wines from the Pyrenees
Have you ever thought of doing wine tasting? Discover excellent wines in the wineries around the charming hotel El Corral de Concilio. The banks of the river Gallego are the ideal location for the production of wine. Two wineries 5 KM away from Concilio produce high quality wines, in their own vineyards caring for the grapes so that they reach the oak barrel in optimum condition.

From time immemorial wines are made in large stone wine presses which are found in all the traditional homes in the villages of The Kingdom of Los Mallos . Bolea and Ayerbe are the heads of region of the Kingdom of the Mallos. You will be able to do your shopping just a five – minute drive from Concilio, doctor’s surgery, banks, pharmacy, restaurants, supermarket can be found there… Amenities at your doorstep, in case you feel like it. Ayerbe has a Renaissance palace owned by the family of the Marquis of Urries, the beautiful medieval tower of San Pedro, atmospheric squares and terraces. If you want to unwind and relax you only have to drive back to Concilio, connected to Ayerbe by great roads.

Royal Monastery San Juan de la Peña
We would like to encourage you to travel 40 Km to one of the most magical, legendary and sacred places in the Kingdom of Aragon.
It was one of the most important monasteries in Aragon in the Middle Ages. Legend said that the chalice of the Last Supper (Holy Grail) was sent to the monastery for protection and prevention from being captured by the Muslim invaders of the Iberian Peninsula. It is alleged to be the same cup that was presented in 1438 by Alfonso V of Aragon to the Valencia Cathedral. Today, its open-air cloister, sheltered by the mountain, with water flowing inside the great cave, it is considered an architectural masterpiece. Don’t miss its unique capitals carved by master sculptor from Agúero.
Murillo de Gállego excitement and adventure
Concilio lies in the council district of this beautiful medieval village located above the river that separates them. Do not forget to visit the major tourist adventure sports destination in Aragon.

Natural pools
Discover amazing natural pools! In the Kingdom of the Mallos you will be able to find numerous them hidden among green fields and countryside. These natural pools have been formed during hundreds of thousands of years. Waterfalls, crystal-clear waters… Forget about chlorine and find yourself refreshed in these aquatic gardens, or if it is too cold, prepare your phone to take beautiful pictures or record amazing videos.
Our favourite ones are called baños de la reina (the bath of the queen), but there are many more, feel free to come and ask us!
Discover our little romanic village
Concilio is a breath of fresh air. It enjoys an exceptional location surrounded by nature, forests, a river and mountains. Without factories or pollution.
Facing Los Mallos de Riglos, this tiny village is possibly the smallest village in the world with a Romanic church. According to the Guinness book of records, the smallest village in the world is Hume (Croatia), but if you search in Google Maps, you will realise that Concilio is half the size.
In the only Street in the village (La Virgen Street) you can find two old signs saying “BLASPHEME IS NOT ALLOWED”, because, as the locals well know, Concilio is a sacred place. This is the only place called Concilio.
Let us know if you are interested in visiting the Romanic church (Assumption of Mary church) National monument since 1931. Beautiful sculptures of musicians on the exterior walls, in the corbels in the apse you can see the remainings of a Mozarabic arch, the only vestige of the Visigothic Monastery located here a long time ago.

Stone houses with proper names, not the owner’s name but a nick name for the house.
El Corral de Concilio belongs to Casa López, opposite casa Miguel and Casa L´Alero, Coronas, Chorra y Casa García form the village along with Las Escuelas (The old School) and Casa del Maestro (The teacher’s House). You won’t find modern buildings in Concilio. Most of the constructions are nearly 800 years old (medieval stone and wood). Houses that formed a compact centre for the survival of the villagers. Animals, fields, woods and the river were the day to day of the residents of the Kingdom of the Mallos.

The only street in Concilio will lead you to beautiful routes with hardly any traffic. If you walk North, you will see the beautiful Romanic church which is worth visiting. Behind the church you can enjoy a wonderful view of Los MAllos de Riglos. If you continue along this route you will get to the train station. The Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza-Huesca-Canfranc line goes through here. It looks like a train station from the Wild West.

A 20-minute walk south through beautiful countryside, fields of olive trees, streams and leafy oak , holm oak and pine tree forests will take you to the wild river Gállego. Unwind and recharge your batteries walking through these lovely routes.

Supplementary beds, cots and baby baths are available. We are always happy to heat up baby bottles, keep baby food cool in our fridge or store your bikes in our store room.
Board games and cards are also available in addition to the different activities of the local area.
